The unlikely expatriate blogger behind MirvaKelnopRysa

Hello there, I am Sophia
I work as a project manager, am a parent, and I am an expat residing in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began with a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.
The first months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, higher expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built MirvaKelnopRysa
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, everyday family insight.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Canada.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophia
